Furnished Quarters’ NYC Top 5 Fun Early Summer Events:

1. Big Apple BBQ Block Party– Saturday – Sunday, June 7 – 8 from 11am – 6pm

Don’t miss the 12th Annual Big Apple BBQ Block Party in Madison Square Park. It is one of the country’s premiere barbeque festivals with great live music and Southern hospitality. There will be award-winning meals, Southern-inspired fare from the country’s top pit masters, live performances, and seminars.

2. Museum Mile Festival– Tuesday, June 10 from 6 – 9pm

It is the 36th Annual Museum Mile Festival, New York’s biggest block party featuring free access to all 9 museums along 5th Avenue from 82nd – 105th Streets. Celebrate with live bands, outdoor activities, and entertainment.

3. Jazz Age Lawn Party– Saturday – Sunday, June 14 – 15 from 11am – 5pm.

Transport back in time to the Roaring Twenties at the 9th Annual Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor’s Island. Enjoy live entertainment and musical performances as you picnic on the lawn. You will get a chance to take vintage portraits, participate in dance lessons, view a 1920’s motorcar exhibition, and more!

4. River to River Festival– Thursday – Sunday, June 19 – 29, times vary.

The River to River Festival features over 90 artists with free music, dance, film, arts, new media, and theatre events in Lower Manhattan’s public plazas, landmarks, and parks.

5.  SummerStage in Central Park– Starts Tuesday, June 17 – July 29, times vary.

1.  Charles River Festival– Saturday, June 7 from Noon – 6pm

It is the 35th Annual Charles River Festival featuring a wide array of Cambridge-based visual and performing arts. There will be entertainment, interactive art demos, specialty foods, and more.

2. Phantom Gourmet BBQ and Music Festival– Friday – Sunday, June 20 -22, times vary.

Come to City Hall Plaza for the Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Party and Music Festival– one of the premier barbecue events in the nation! There will be live entertainment, a dance floor, and a beer garden.

3. Make Music/ Harvard Square– Saturday, June 22 at 2pm

Kick in the summer at the 6th Annual Make Music/Harvard Square inspired by “Fête de la Musique,” a street music festival from Paris. Attend the festivities and free live outdoor music festival with more than 110 bands on 14 stages across all genres.

4. Chowderfest– Sunday, July 6 from 11:00am – 6pm

Enjoy a day of fun at the 32nd Annual Boston Chowderfest. Sample clam chowder from participating restaurants. Place your votes as restaurants compete for the title of “Boston’s Best Chowder.”

5. Boston Harbor Islands– Ongoing

Hop on a ferry at Boston’s Long Wharf-North for a 15 minute cruise to Georges or Spectacle Island. Go hiking to explore the sites and wildlife. Enjoy a picnic and relax on the beach. You can go swimming, fishing, sailing, and more.
