Sunday 20th August 2017,

You might be wondering how to say goodbye to summer and enjoy the weekends in Jersey City. The quick answer? Just relax. You’ve worked hard and deserve a break, but we get it—a break means rest for some and adventure time for others. If you feel the itch to get out and explore, here are 3 enjoyable weekend activities in and around Jersey City:

Riverview Farmers Market

Hand select fresh produce to compliment your last outdoor BBQ’s or simply enjoy the live music—Riverview Farmers Market is the perfect low-key place to hang out and get involved in the community. Experience it all this Sunday from 10am to 3pm at Riverview-Fisk Park, 1 Bowers Street, Jersey City.

Liberty Science Center

Escape the weekend routine at Liberty Science Center. Take it easy by strolling through educational exhibits such as Honey Bees: Home is Where the Hive Is and Energy Quest. Then, settle in to an immersive IMAX film, namely A Beautiful Planet or National Parks Adventure. Visit Liberty Science Center’s website for more information on exhibits, pricing and directions.

Newport Green Park

Did you know there’s a beach in Jersey City? Sure, technically it’s a contained manmade sand beach, but with plenty of space to spread out and stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Newport Green Park is the place to spend a warm weather weekend. For those with kids, the spacious playground and carousel are popular, but there’s fun for adults too with an onsite ping pong table. Pack for a picnic and call it a day in Newport Green Park at Washington Boulevard and 14th Street.
